Performance Snapshot
YTD +47.97% | 36 tracked weeks | 24 green · 12 red
Last weekend: −1.88%. Two wins, one refund and two losses. On a flat €10,000 reference bankroll, that is −€188 for the week.
Issue 37 selection | Score¹ | Result | Bankroll P/L |

Total · 11.0% staked | −1.88% |
¹ Home score first. Results: [7–10]. Stakes and prices: Issue 37. Weekly calculation: −2.50 − 2.50 + 1.74 + 1.38 = −1.88 percentage points.
YTD calculation. Last issue’s +49.85% less 1.88 percentage points = +47.97%. The additive tracker index moves from 149.85 to 147.97. This carries forward the published 35-week record, adding one red week: 24 green, 12 red. Returns use published prices before commission; the tracker is additive, not a compounded account balance.
What Last Weekend Taught Us
Our two biggest positions both required large winning margins. City’s narrow win and Bayern’s draw cost 5% between them. The error to examine is how much we committed to those margins, not whether the favourites were strong teams.
Dortmund’s comeback delivered a winner and United’s draw refunded the stake. Those outcomes settle the money; they do not establish whether we bought good prices. Closing-price records are needed to answer that question.
How We Make The Decision
We compare the exact market and net price, challenge the form story, and size the bet to the strength of the case. Third-party probabilities are cross-checks; selections, floors and stakes are editorial judgments. Their value is conditional on those estimates being accurate.
Standing rule: confirm starting teams, apply the floor after commission, and reassess material lineup changes. Fix stakes from the opening weekend bankroll. A failed condition leaves the money uncommitted.
The Sharp Take
Manchester United v Manchester City
Sunday 13 September · 17:30 CEST · Old Trafford
Man City win @ 2.15 | Net floor 2.10 | Stake 1.5%
Why this price interests us. City won at Porto on Tuesday; United played Sabah on Thursday. We favour City’s longer recovery window in a competitive derby, while recognising that match dates do not measure individual workload. At 2.15 we only need the win, including by a single goal. [11–12]
The price test. Oddschecker’s 49% win estimate compares with a 46.5% break-even rate at 2.15. That implies 5.35% gross expected return on stake; at our 2.10 net floor, it falls to 2.9%. This supports a modest position, with little room for error in the estimate. [1]
The case against. United have home advantage and come off a 4–0 European win. City only edged Coventry 1–0. The recovery argument tilts our choice; it does not make the derby one-sided. [7, 12]
Specific condition. Haaland must start. Keep the Sunday stake at 1.5% whatever happens on Saturday.
Tottenham Hotspur v Everton
Saturday 12 September · 18:30 CEST · Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Everton win @ 3.75 | Net floor 3.65 | Stake 1.0%
Why this price interests us. Everton are unbeaten after three league games; Spurs have yet to score. Our read is that 3.75 gives enough compensation for backing the visitors, without requiring us to believe Everton are the more likely winner. [9, 14]
The price test. The quote requires a 26.7% win rate to break even. Oddschecker’s estimate is 28%, implying 5.0% gross expected return at 3.75 and 2.2% at the 3.65 net floor. A slim case earns a 1% stake. [4]
The case against. Spurs can improve quickly at home. Everton needed a spectacular late equaliser against United, and a repeat draw would lose this bet. We can like the price while expecting the selection to lose more often than it wins. [9]
Two Prices We Are Passing
No stakes here. Review prices are thresholds for fresh analysis, not available quotes.
Freiburg v Borussia Mönchengladbach
Saturday 15:30 CEST | Freiburg 1.74 | Review at 2.00 net
Two Freiburg wins against two Gladbach losses make a tempting form story. The price asks for a 57.5% home-win probability, however, while Oddschecker estimates 53%, equivalent to fair odds of about 1.89. We do not see enough evidence to override that gap. [2, 6]
Gladbach scored three against Elversberg. Their attack remains a threat. Review at 2.00, checking why the price moved. [13]
Bournemouth v Brentford
Saturday 16:00 CEST | Brentford 2.80 | Review at 3.00 net
Brentford’s five points and Bournemouth’s repeated lost leads make the visitors worth considering. The numbers stop us: a 36% published win estimate at 2.80 produces only 0.8% gross expected return. At 2% exchange commission, that turns into roughly −0.5%. [3, 5, 7]
Review at 3.00 net, checking whether adverse team news explains the drift.
Elsewhere On The Board
Bayern at Elversberg. Sunday 17:30 CEST. Bayern won 5–0 in Europe; Elversberg have won both league games. The 1.18 match-result price offers too little appeal, and we have no verified Asian-handicap quote. Pass. [6, 12]
Arsenal at Sunderland. The 1.50 reference requires a 66.7% win rate. We have not established enough value to add another away favourite. [5]
Como and Parma. Como’s 4–1 Champions League debut was impressive. Their home league match against Parma is on Monday 14 September, outside this card. That fixture needs its own price assessment. [15]
Bankroll Tip
Check what the price actually pays
For one back bet as your only position in an exchange market: net odds = 1 + (quoted odds − 1) × (1 − commission rate). Use your account’s actual rate.
City at 2.15 becomes 2.0925 after 5% commission, below our 2.10 floor. At 2% commission it becomes 2.127 and clears it. That small calculation changes the decision.
With a €10,000 opening bankroll, City is €150 and Everton €100. The maximum combined loss is €250, or 2.5%. Skipped bets reduce that amount.
Before You Go
City: Haaland starts, 2.10 net minimum. Everton: 3.65 net minimum. Two singles, 2.5% total. No replacement bet is required.
Which price did you reject this weekend? Reply with the match, market and odds. Include commission if you use an exchange; the useful comparison is what the bet would actually pay.
Sources and Price Notes
Market snapshots were checked on 11 September 2026. Oddschecker supplies the quoted prices and its separately published probabilities. Expected returns are calculations from those estimates, not independently validated forecasts. Confirm bookmaker availability, stake limits and exchange liquidity when placing a bet.
Tracker Method
The YTD series continues the statistics published in Issue 37: +49.85%, 35 tracked weeks, 24 green and 11 red. Adding the five-bet card’s −1.88% produces +47.97%, 36 tracked weeks, 24 green and 12 red.
The series sums weekly percentage returns on a flat 100-unit reference bankroll. Its index is 100 + 47.97 = 147.97. It does not describe compounded growth, and issue numbers are separate from the number of tracked weeks. Published-price results exclude commission and are not actual reader account returns.
